About Custom Terrain
Custom Terrain is a niche art and design studio run by myself Elliott James, based in Sydney, Australia.
I sculpt, mould, cast, paint and flock everything myself. Over the years I have created hundreds of different designs for thousands of happy customers, ranging from one-off custom handmade terrain pieces, to gaming boards, to resin dungeon terrain, and now more recently a full suite of printed gaming mats and modular gaming tiles.
In 2017 I ran a very successful Kickstarter to launch my Dungeon Box terrain sets, featuring handsculpted, moulded and cast dungeon terrain for tabletop games, raising over $14,000, and shipping out around 350 box sets (each one made by hand)!
As of 2020 I am expanding my popular range of gaming mats and game tiles, adding all new themes and sizes so that everyone can have something for their gaming table.
I started Custom Terrain because I love tabletop gaming, and I love designing. Making terrain and gaming boards goes hand in hand with both.
I am always looking for new ideas and trying out new techniques. If you have an idea or suggestion then please contact me, I'd love to hear from you.
