4'x4' Dry River Board
This commission was for a 4'x4' board in an overgrown style with a dry riverbed. As the riverbed was dry, I extended this 'dry' concept throughout the rest of the board - I added extra cracks and dry-earth detailing to the board, and also toned down the shades of static grass with more muted, drier shades.
The client specifically required a 4'x4' board, as they play two very cool looking skirmish games - one called SAGA, a viking age inspired wargame, and another fairly recent game called Godslayer which looks pretty epic.
The board has a straight river, which is set slightly off-centre. The benefit of this is if you don't want the river to play a major role in a particular game, you can turn it to the outside so it is conveniently out of the way.
