Showing an improved method for pouring my water effects. The river shown is in a swamp theme, with an alternative dead grass flocking scheme. All of the designs I offer can easily be re-themed on request, just as this river was for a particular client.

I now have a number of alien-themed terrain pieces and a gaming board up in my store section. There will be more designs to follow soon including a Spore Chimney, Land Tumors, Acid Pools, and more...

These pieces are great for Tyranid players, and all the colour schemes can be colour matched to your existing army colour scheme.

At Custom Terrain I have always found pride in providing fully finished (painted and flocked) terrain to the customer, and customers can know that they will always receive consistent high quality designs and paintwork, and be able to play with their terrain straight out of the box.

However, I always monitor the market closely, and I have noticed a gradual but steady increase in competition, especially of late. As markets change, business must also in order to survive.

Unfortunately, a lot of my competition decide to offer their designs unpainted, or at the least quickly and poorly painted, and so are able to undercut my prices.

The biggest expense in producing terrain is time, which is something I think a lot of people do not realise. In order to paint and flock my designs to my standards, it takes a lot of time.

I have had to make a decision - continue as I am and suffer for it, or meet market demands (cheap prices).

As such, the majority of future designs will be provided unpainted, except for a select few designs which will be provided fully painted/flocked as usual.

I will also gradually work through my catalogue of designs and begin offering a number of those as unpainted versions.

This means many things, the most important being lower prices on unpainted designs (the actual casting process is fairly efficient) to meet market demand. It also means I will be devoting a lot more time to designing, and thus expanding my catalogue at a much faster rate, giving you lots of choice.

Designing is really my passion, and the benefit of this scenario is that I get to do a lot more of it.

Apologies if I seem to be labouring on this, however it is a decision I have taken quite personally, and it is a big change to how Custom Terrain will operate. That said, anyone who would like an unpainted design painted and flocked is more than welcome to request that service - designs can be done in my usual themes, or in custom schemes.

At the moment this change will be taken on on a trial basis, however it will more than likely become permanent.

Gaming boards and display boards will remain unaffected, as will a number of my more premium designs.

I have just uploaded a new design set, with more to follow over the coming months. Scifi terrain! Something I have been wanting to do for a very long time.

The first designs are some power cores - futuristic cold fusion generators which can be placed throughout a scifi setting...

If you have taken a look at my products section lately, you might have noticed there is a new 'Structures' category!

I think it is fair to say I have not put a lot of focus on buildings in the past. Buildings are generally very time consuming pieces to create, as well as very specialised...

However I have lately been 'building' my skills up to a high standard, and also creating lots of different moulds to make detailing buildings a faster and more versatile process.

Long story short, I am putting a whole bunch of new building designs up for sale (more designs being added as I go)!

My aim is to create some amazingly detailed pieces, and also allow you the flexibility to have a piece created especially for your needs.

All of my building designs can easily be adapted to any theme you require, be it scifi, fantasy, or steampunk :D

If you have any ideas for buildings you would like to see available, don't hesitate to let me know.

And don't forget, if you are after other terrain there are a huge number of designs available in the other categories, and even fully completed sets available from my ebay store!
